Truck Driver - Delivery of heating oil and propane

Job Description

The Truck Driver will is responsible for accurately delivering heating oil and propane to residential and/or commercial structures. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of fuel oil or propane delivery trucks and equipment.


  • Complete assigned delivery routes on a daily basis.
  • Vehicle appearance and cleanliness of driving compartment.
  • Accurately reporting customer and delivery information.
  • Daily DOT pre-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Maintain a clean driving record.
  • Obtain and maintain required certifications.
  • Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.


  • Knowledge of Hazmat codes and proper application; knowledge of proper driving of a delivery truck and safety.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused work environment; ability to balance workload with drivers and customers needs.
  • Ability to establish rapport with customers.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion with information.
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Must have strong math skills.
  • Ability to utilize common-sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
  • Ability to take timely action to effectively solve problems, using established policies and procedures.


  • 1 year of Truck Driving experience.
  • CDL class B with hazmat, air brake, and tanker endorsements.
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver s license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a certified DOT physical.
  • Ability to explain technical information to non-technical customers.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
