Provides direct care to patients with wounds or conditions related to wounds. Responsible for providing specialized, advanced wound care for patients with alterations of skin integrity. Other duties include educating patients, families and professionals, counseling patients and families. Functions as a member of the Wound Management Team. Provides care specific to age and developmental needs of patients.
Job Description Field:
Participates in the Wound Management Center's delivery of personalized, efficient care with respect for patient's spiritual and/or cultural differences.
Makes decisions and judgments in preventing, analyzing and resolving patient care issues or other problems.
Follows the established plan of care and collaborates with members of the Wound Management Center as needed.
Directs care team in the absence of the clinical coordinator, when directed by the manager.
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of wounds, treatments, interventions and expected outcomes.
Possesses knowledge of offloading and interventions related to wound healing.
Verbalizes knowledge of underlying comorbidities and how they affect wound healing.
Possesses knowledge of compression therapy and demonstrates the use of compression related to wound healing.
Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate products used for pain management and other interventions related to pain.
Performs complete patient assessment appropriately.
Initiates/follows unit and hospital specific protocols and procedures related to hand hygiene and fall prevention.
Documents care, including photography of wounds.
Assumes responsibility for professional development, being proactive in learning advanced wound and skin care. Attends seminars, reads and shares information.
Completion an approved 40 hour entry level hyperbaric educational program.
Ability and knowledge to perform assessment of patients and treatments required
for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.
Must be able to sit for up to 2 hours per day; 1 hour at a time, stand for up to 8 hours per day; 4 hours at a time, and walk 6 hours per day; 50 minutes at a time. Have ability to lift, carry and push objects with a weight of up to 75 lbs., and transport patients weighing up to 400 lbs. via wheelchair, bed and/or stretcher with assistance when appropriate. Must be able to pull up to 10 lbs., and frequently pull up to 250 lbs. with assistance when appropriate. Must be able to stoop, bend, crouch, kneel, climb, crawl and reach above shoulder level. Must be able to perceive attributes of an object through touch and be able to firmly grasp, twist and turn objects with hands and fingers. Must be able to hear as it relates to normal sound at high and low frequencies. Must be able to see as it relates to color, peripheral vision, accurate depth perception, and visual monotony (e.g. computer screen).
Current NJ/PA RN licensure based on work location. Eligible to apply for NJ licensure if needed. BSN preferred. BLS required. Wound Care Certification preferred with goal of working toward certification within 3-5 years of employment.
Minimum one year nursing experience with direct, hands on patient care required. Out-patient or in-patient wound care experience preferred. Must be agreeable to attend entry level 40 hour Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Program by accredited organization, to function and take on responsibilities of a Hyperbaric staff nurse.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
